Baptist Hospital - Digital Operating Rooms
Baptist Health Care is the first in the region to complete the first of five new hybrid i-Suite® operating rooms (ORs) designed to support minimally invasive surgeries. This $1.1 million investment provides the region with the latest in leading OR technology as a part of Baptist Hospital's new 42-bed Center of Innovation. With advancements in minimally invasive surgery, surgeons will be able to reduce patients' surgery time and overall length of hospital stay. This means patients can recover more quickly and return to activities sooner.
Some of the key features of the new OR include:
- Larger rooms with ceiling mounted equipment to increase functionality and reduce items around the surgical table;
- Latest high definition medical video system that allows for optimal surgical viewing during minimally invasive surgeries;
- Integrated surgical environment capability displays, saves and shares surgical images; providing surgeons with timely, important information that they can use to communicate with other physicians or experts while in the OR.
The new OR suites are part of Baptist Hospital's current $39 million construction project. The remaining four ORs are estimated to be complete by late 2011.
